MARY ANN PARTIN FUNDRAISER A SUCCESS
- Our first Mary Ann Partin Open House was a great success. We opened
our doors to five vendors namely, Longaberger, Tastefully Simple,
Pampered Chef, Mary Kay and Southern Living at Home. These vendors
donated some beautiful gifts that will be available at the Silent
Auction during our Taste of Christmas, Wednesday, December 9th. The
people that attended had a good time, browsing and doing some early
Christmas shopping. The vendors were so happy with their sales, they
asked to do it again in November to give more people an opportunity to
come. The date will be Thursday, November 5th. It will be open all
that day for you to come and browse. The vendors will be here if you
have any questions from 5:30 to 8pm. Refreshments will be served. Come
and check it out and mark your calendar for the Taste of Christmas
December 9 at the Milford Community Firefighters Hall.

THINK LOCAL-SHOP LOCAL -
The Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce, The Clermont County
Chamber and the Clermont County Public Relations office are working on a
new campaign. THINK LOCAL—SHOP LOCAL. We want everyone that lives
and/or works in Clermont County to be aware that eating at local
restaurants and shopping local stores helps the local and county
governments plus keeps our businesses strong. The sales and use tax is
state government’s second largest source of revenue and is an important
revenue source for county government. The current state tax rate is 5.5
percent; Clermont County, like most counties across the state, has a 1
percent permissive tax that is levied when you buy retail items at local
stores or eat a local restaurants. “Milford’s small town charm is due,
in part, to a vibrant historic Main Street,” said Milford City Manager
Loretta Rokey. “Our success depends upon loyal repeat customers from
the surrounding area who enjoy the diversity and personal service that
Milford’s Main Street provides.” “With the diversity of local
businesses here, there isn’t a need for people to drive across town to
dine or shop,” said Chris Hamm, owner of Latitudes Café and Buffalo
Harry’s in Milford. “We are seeing a growing number of local people and
those from neighboring counties and states visiting our establishments;
lots are repeat customers. Many local residents are also choosing to
shop and dine locally as a way to conserve energy.” Support your
local businesses. It will help boost the economy. Visit the SHOP
CLERMONT booth during Taste of Clermont, September 11-13, 2009 at
Eastgate Mall to receive discount coupons from Clermont County
businesses, retailers and restaurants. If your business would like to be
a part of the discount coupon give away, bring them to our office by
August 5th. For more information, call 513-831-2411 or 513-576-5013.
