Ambassador of the Year: Tara Means

The Ambassador of the Year recognition is awarded to an individual who goes above and beyond to support the Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce (MMTCC), and who is always there when the Chamber needs help. This year, the Chamber is honored to announce this is being awarded to Tara Means, local realtor who thinks about the Chamber whenever she’s talking business, and has been a huge support with a variety of Chamber needs.

Tara co-leads The Honey Hive, a real estate team she runs with her husband at Pivot Realty Group, and has been a member of the Chamber for one year. She has also started a non-profit called The Sweet Life with Diabetes which will be launching to the community later this year; serves on the City of Milford’s Community Sustainability Commission; and serves on the Clermont County Steering Committee for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

“In real estate, buying and selling homes – especially in Milford Miami Township – takes years before someone may need us,” explains Tara. “So our philosophy is we are here to help you in all the life events that surround home ownership. For all the moments, we are here for you.”

Being a member and Ambassador for the Chamber has further connected Tara to the community and allowed her to use her strengths to support those around her. “Our Chamber is such an amazing group of business owners and leaders dedicated to helping one another succeed,” she says. “While we may join the Chamber for different business needs, MMTCC has resources for everything a small business needs to get up and grow in our community.”

The Honey Hive is named after the team’s love for honeybees and how they work together as a hive to help one another – and working with her husband, or “honey,” makes the process that much sweeter! “When I first joined the Chamber, I loved talking about our bees so much that the other members thought I sold honey. Thus, we have had to evolve our messaging to remind people we sell homes, not honey. We now say “Hive Means Home and Home Means Everything.”

Impacting Tomorrow

Being a Chamber member for the past year, Tara jumped into what the organization had to offer and dedicated herself to the community, participating in events such as the summer classic Frontier Days, the vintage baseball game, concerts in the park, the chocolate walk, Breakfast with the Grinch, morning mixers, and ribbon cuttings.

“The Chamber provides resources for when you need help solving a problem and human support for when you need someone else who truly understands your situation,” Tara continues. “At any stage of entrepreneurship it can get lonely, and it’s easy to feel like you are alone on the roller coaster. I genuinely believe that we all win when we lift each other up. I want to show my amazing bonus son that amazing things happen when you hustle humbly and lead with kindness.”

Tara is honored to receive the Ambassador of the Year award, and to be recognized for her efforts. “There are many Ambassadors who go above and beyond everyday to support our fellow Chamber members,” she adds. “It’s a recognition for doing what I love in helping others and our community, so it means the world to me.”
